Choose the correct size ring terminal that will fit the wire gauge you are working with.
Strip the end of the wire and cut it to the same length as the terminal.
Insert the wire into the terminal barrel, making sure that no bare wire is visible.
The crimp terminal is now ready to be crimped onto the end of the wire. You can use pliers or a ratchet crimping tool to crimp the terminal, but using a ratchet crimping tool will give you a better quality crimp. The reason for this is that the handles will remain locked until a full crimp cycle is completed, preventing partial crimps.
Insert the barrel of the ring terminal into the appropriate crimping section of the tool, which is indicated by sizes marked on the tool.
Squeeze the tool handles together until the ratchet releases.
The crimped ring terminal can now be placed over the stud or post and secured in place with a nut or by soldering.
By following these steps, you can crimp a ring terminal with confidence and ensure that your electrical connections are secure and reliable.
